This short movie shows how the Swedish Cooperative Center (SCC) is educating farmers in Kenya about the importance of insurance. With support from the ILO Microinsurance Innovation Facility, SCC assists low-income families in dealing with the financial impact of shocks, such as disease and accidents.

Kidz 4 Kidz - Wafalme

 

Stay tuned for Wafalme next song. Kidz 4 Kidz has been written by Wafalme to support the kids of Haiti after the terrible 2010 earthquake. Wafalme, First Prize Winner of the MTV Positive Change Award, are a music group from the slums of Nairobi. They are 15 in number and their average age is 12. They use their music and talent to spread positive message to the world.

Intersos - Jowhar Vocational Training Center
Informational video to highlight the Jowhar Vocational Training Center opened by Intersos in Somalia. Intersos started its operations in Somalia in 1992. Its current involvement in the country is therefore deeply rooted in its humanitarian work including Internally displaced persons repatriation, health, water and sanitation, rural development and education.

Dadaab Refugee Camp


A documentary about the Dadaab refugee camps, in north-eastern Kenya. The camps in Dadaab have housed refugees for over 15 years, starting with the flight of refugees from Somalia in 1991. Most of the people living in the camps are Somali, though there are also refugees from Sudan, Uganda, the Congo and other countries in conflict. Many have lived in Dadaab for over a decade, unable to return to homes still embroiled in chaos. CISP - Malindi for children - trailer


Watch the trailer of Malindi for children, a documentary about the first edition of the Malindi Music Festival for Children December 2009. The Festival showcased a multicultural blend of musical talent including progressive Italian drumming star Tullio De Piscopo, a long list of big name Kenyan celebrity as Achien'g Abura, Yunasi Band, Kayamba Africa, Njota Ndogo and local talents. The event has been a meeting point for different cultures and an opportunity for exchange and mutual inter-cultural understanding. The Festival is part of the "Malindi Protects Children" Campaign, a joint effort from both the local community and the tourism sector to combat any form of sexual exploitation of children and to promote responsible tourism on the Kenyan Coast. The Festival has been organized by CISP in collaboration with Malindi & Watamu Tourism Welfare Group with the support of UNICEF and a large number of Malindi and Kenya wide based businesses.
